Centacare Kimberley Association Inc has been contracted by the Western Australian Department of Child Protection to deliver the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness (NPAH) Rough Sleeper Program in the Broome Region. This service aims to engage with people who are homeless and/or sleeping rough in the area to ensure their social health and wellbeing needs are being met. This program also aims to support eligible clients to obtain and then maintain long term stable accommodation. To achieve these objectives Housing Support Workers, coordinate the Homeless Breakfast, engage with eligible people and work with a broad range of community services to meet client needs. The Homeless Support Worker will support a coordinated response to homelessness with communities, agencies, and service staff. Case Manage and coordinate housing support for people who are homeless. Act as liaison and planning support person for individuals using the service. Liaise and network with other agencies to provide a holistic approach for client support. Make recommendations and assist in formulating new policy within the agency. Ensure cultural issues are incorporated into service delivery. Provide case management and support services under the direction of the Manager. Contribute positively to Centacare Kimberley’s Support Services Team.

About the job: We are looking for a team member who is willing to learn how to sort the mail Monday to Friday. This would entail sorting letters and placing into the right PO Box, scanning, carding & putting away anywhere between 100 – 300 parcels a day. Answering the hatch and handing out parcels to customers. All training will be providing on site. Must be able to provide a National Police Clearance no more than 6 months old (we can help the right applicant supply this). Must be able to work at a fast pass and be on your feet for a full shift. Must be available from 8.50am – 2pm/5pm. Must be able to follow direction from management and senior staff members. Must be willing to work independently, as well as with the team. Must be able to show respect and understanding to fellow team members as well as customers.
