The Remote Jobs and Community Development Program (CDP) is part of the Australian Government's commitment to the Closing the Gap strategy. The CDP aims to achieve social and economic development through active participation, jobs and stronger communities in remote Australia.

The aim of this site is to provide communities with the tools, templates and information to ensure each organization meets it legal obligations under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2006 (CATSI ACT) and the “Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations” (ORIC).
The role of the "On The Ground Person" will be to assist your organisation with following:

Identify if there are any gaps in the Board’s practices

Help to ensure an organization stays compliant with all applicable legislation (laws).

Educate boards about what good Corporate Governance practices look like.

Develop educational materials for boards and community use.

Assist boards to develop and implement policies, procedure and programs in line with current legislation, standards, quality assurance and risk management

Ensure best practice and legislative compliance is maintained

Co-ordinate Board communications and Community engagement

Facilitate the empowerment of indigenous Corporations by promoting self-determination
