Must be organised, meet deadlines, committed to working safely and encouraged and motivate "Work for the Dole" participants. Start: ASAP.


Eligibility: obtain or hold a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Clearance, Drivers Licence and must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

POSITION DESCRIPTION


POSITION TITLE: (Senior) Field Officer

AWARD: Labour Market Assistance Industry Award 2010

JOB TYPE: (Full-time) Part-time; Permanent

JOB LEVEL: Training & Placement Officer Grade 1

REPORTS TO: Project Officer


PURPOSE


To engage Clients in meaningful CDP activities to build capacity and skills for future employment opportunities, recording attendance and investigating non-attendance collaboratively with dedicated Clients Officer.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Participate in conducting CDP activities in assigned communities, including Work for the Dole projects acting as a role model;

Supervise, guide and mentor Clientss engaged in CDP activities including Work for the Dole projects;

Support and motivate Clientss to attend identified CDP activities including Work for the Dole projects, training and appointments;

Engage with the local community to deliver Clients services that are culturally, socially, and environmentally appropriate;

Deliver feedback to Area Manager on CDP activities including Work for the Dole projects;

Identify training opportunities to address Clients competency gaps and employment needs;

Ensure WHS policies and guidelines are being met and raise WHS incident reports;


DUTIES

Process daily time sheets and ensure daily Clients attendance is accurately accounted for in CDP activities in assigned communities, including Work for the Dole projects;

Assist in conducting non-attendance investigation in collaboration with Clients Officer and

Area Manager;


Investigate and perform follow up actions to determine reason(s) for non-attendance;

Ensure Clientss are issued with protective equipment (where required), uniforms, and equipment which is fit for purpose;

Ensure service tools and equipment are locked and secured daily.


Proactively raise WHS issues, collate incident reports and ensure WHS matters are considered at regular meetings.

KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrates a basic knowledge of the CDP contract, contractual requirements, policies and programme guidelines in relation to CDP activities;

Understands and respects the cultural, social and economic factors that affect Aboriginal communities;

Project Management intermediate.


QUALIFICATIONS

Basic literacy and numeracy skills (CERT II level)
